The Megaconferences and their Spinoffs received the first-ever “Internet2 Driving Exemplary Applications” (IDEA) award on April 26, 2006, at the Internet2 Members Meeting in Arlington, VA. The following sections describe the IDEA original call for proposals, the Megaconferences proposal, the award announcement, the award ceremony and the award itself.
